§48‑2‑302.  Time for filing petition.

(a)        Except forpetitions filed pursuant to Articles 4 and 6 of this Chapter, a petition foradoption must be filed no later than 30 days after a minor is placed with thepetitioner or this State acquires jurisdiction to hear the petition, whicheveris later, unless the court extends the time for filing.

(b)        If a petition isnot filed in accordance with subsection (a) of this section, any person maynotify the county department of social services for appropriate action.
