§52C‑6‑612.  Recognition of order modified in another state.

A tribunal of this State shallrecognize a modification of its earlier child support order by a tribunal ofanother state which assumed jurisdiction pursuant to a law substantiallysimilar to this Chapter and, upon request, except as otherwise provided in thisChapter, shall:

(1)        Enforce the orderthat was modified only as to amounts accruing before the modification;

(2)        Enforce onlynonmodifiable aspects of that order;

(3)        Provide otherappropriate relief only for violations of that order which occurred before theeffective date of the modification; and

(4)        Recognize themodifying order of the other state, upon registration, for the purpose ofenforcement. (1995, c. 538, s. 7(c).)
