§66‑237.  Registration of salespersons.

(a)        It shall beunlawful for any salesperson to offer to sell any membership camping contractin this State unless he is registered with the Secretary of State. Theapplication of a salesperson for registration shall be on a form prescribed bythe Secretary of State and shall include the following:

(1)        A statementdetailing whether the applicant within the past five years has been convictedof any misdemeanor or felony involving theft, fraud, dishonesty, or moral turpitude,or whether the applicant has been enjoined from, had any civil penalty assessedfor, or been found to have engaged in any violation of any law designed toprotect consumers, and

(2)        A statementdescribing the applicant's employment history for the past five years andwhether any termination of employment during the last five years was occasionedby any theft, fraud, or act of dishonesty.

(b)        Registration shallbe effective for a period of one year. Registration shall be renewed annuallyby the filing of a form prescribed by the Secretary of State for such purpose.The registration application or the renewal application shall automaticallybecome effective upon the expiration of seven business days following thefiling with the Secretary of State.
