Prior to taking office, magistrates shall be bonded, individually orcollectively, in such amount or amounts as the Administrative Officer of theCourts shall determine. The bond or bonds shall be conditioned upon thefaithful performance of the duties of the office of magistrate. TheAdministrative Officer shall procure such bond or bonds from any indemnity orguaranty company authorized to do business in North Carolina, and the premiumor premiums shall be paid by the State.
