Article27.

Authority over Parents ofJuveniles Adjudicated Delinquent or Undisciplined.

§ 7B‑2700.  Appearancein court.

The parent, guardian, orcustodian of a juvenile under the jurisdiction of the juvenile court shallattend the hearings of which the parent, guardian, or custodian receivesnotice. The court may excuse the appearance of either or both parents or theguardian or custodian at a particular hearing or all hearings. Unless soexcused, the willful failure of a parent, guardian, or custodian to attend ahearing of which the parent, guardian, or custodian has notice shall be groundsfor contempt. (1998‑202, s. 6.)
