§8‑7.  Certified copies of grants and abstracts.

For the purpose of showingtitle from the State of North Carolina to the grantee or grantees therein namedand for the lands therein described, duly certified copies of all grants and ofall memoranda and abstracts of grants on record in the office of the Secretaryof State, or in the Department of Cultural Resources, given in abstract or infull, and with or without the signature of the Governor and the great seal ofthe State appearing upon such record, shall be competent evidence in the courtsof this State or of the United States or of any territory of the United States,and in the absence of the production of the original grant shall be conclusiveevidence of a grant from the State to the grantee or grantees named and for thelands described therein.
