§89E‑2.  Purpose.

The purposes of this Chapterare to protect life, property, health and public welfare through the regulationof the practice of geology in the State of North Carolina; to define thepractice of geology as a profession, establishing minimum professionalstandards of ethical conduct, professional responsibility, educational andexperience background; and to prevent abuses of the practice of geology byuntrained or unprincipled individuals.
