Article 40.

Perfusionist Licensure Act.

§ 90‑681.  Legislative findings.

The General Assembly finds that the practice of perfusion is an area ofhealth care that is continually evolving to include more sophisticated anddemanding patient care activities. The General Assembly further finds that thepractice of perfusion by unauthorized, unqualified, unprofessional, andincompetent persons is a threat to public health, safety, and welfare, andtherefore it is necessary to establish minimum standards of education,training, and competency for persons engaged in the practice of perfusion. (2005‑267, s. 1.)
