§97‑51.  Joint employment; liabilities.

Whenever an employee, forwhose injury or death compensation is payable under this Article, shall at thetime of the injury be in joint service of two or more employers subject to thisArticle, such employers shall contribute to the payment of such compensation inproportion to their wages liability to such employee; provided, however, thatnothing in this section shall prevent any reasonable arrangement between suchemployers for a different distribution as between themselves of the ultimateburden of compensation. (1929, c. 120, s. 50.)
