45-1-3. Examination of state and school lands on request--Reports. It is the duty of the state geologist, when so requested by the commissioner of school and public lands, to examine any state or school land in this state and make a written report to the commissioner of school and public lands concerning the geology thereof and such other matters relating thereto as may be embraced in the request.
