69-2-3. 911 service -- Establishment.
The governing authority of any public agency may establish a 911 emergency telephoneservice to provide service to any part or all of the territory lying within the geographical area ofsuch public agency and may join with the governing authority of any other public agency toprovide emergency telephone service to any part or all of the territory lying within their respectivejurisdictions. A county may provide 911 emergency telephone service within other public safetyagency jurisdictions only upon agreement with the governing authority of such public safetyagency.
