§ 3565. Examination of officers and books

(a) The commissioner, inspecting an insurance company, may require its officers, or any agent thereof, to exhibit books kept by them relating to their business and may examine under oath such agents and officers and other persons as he or she thinks proper, in relation to the business transactions and conditions of the company.

(b) Every company or person from whom information is sought, its officers, directors and agents must provide to the examiners appointed by the commissioner, timely, convenient and free access at all reasonable hours at its offices to all books, records, accounts, papers, documents and any or all computer or other recordings relating to the property, assets, business and affairs of the company being examined. The officers, directors, employees and agents of the company or person shall cooperate in the examination. (1967, No. 344 (Adj. Sess.), § 1, (ch. 1, subch. 9, § 5); amended 1991, No. 249 (Adj.
