16-412. Effective date of new precincts

After establishing precincts as provided in section 16-411, the board of supervisors of each county shall deliver to the county recorder a complete description of these precincts immediately after adoption. The county recorder shall then transfer all the voters who reside in a new precinct as the result of this adoption by March 1 of the year of the next general election. The county recorder shall mail the notice of the precinct change to each household containing a registered voter, unless a sample ballot containing the precinct name or number is mailed prior to the primary election. For the purpose of conducting any election called pursuant to the laws of this state, precincts adopted under the provisions of section 16-411 shall become effective no later than March 1 of the year of the next general election.
