Any cooperative compact in existence in a county containing a city of the first class on <br>July 14, 2000, shall remain in effect unless a consolidated local government is adopted as <br>provided in KRS 67C.101 to 67C.137. The terms and agreements within a cooperative <br>compact shall remain the same and in effect until the installation of the officers of the <br>newly consolidated local government. If the voters in a county containing a city of the <br>first class fail to approve a proposal for a consolidated local government then the <br>cooperative compact shall remain in effect for the duration of the terms of the compact <br>agreement.
