162.990 Penalties. Any person who violates any of the provisions of KRS 162.500 is liable to the board of <br>education, in an action brought by the board of education, or by any citizen of the district, <br>or by the chief state school officer, for the restoration of the wrongful appropriation. In <br>addition, he is guilty of malfeasance in office and upon conviction shall forfeit his office, <br>and may for each offense be fined not less than fifty dollars (&#36;50) nor more than one <br>thousand dollars (&#36;1,000), or imprisoned from one (1) to five (5) years, or both so fined <br>and imprisoned. One-half (1/2) of the fine shall be paid to the board of education by the <br>collecting officer. Effective: July 13, 1990 <br>History: Amended 1990 Ky. Acts ch. 476, Pt.
