Page 1 of 1 216.304 Actions of licensed health care professional that are not violative of KRS 216.302. (1) A licensed health care professional who administers, prescribes, or dispenses medications or procedures to relieve another person's pain or discomfort, even if the <br>medication or procedure may hasten or increase the risk of death, shall not be <br>deemed to have violated KRS 216.302 unless the medications or procedures are <br>knowingly and intentionally administered, prescribed, or dispensed to cause death. (2) A licensed health care professional who withholds or withdraws a life-sustaining procedure in compliance with KRS 311.622 to 311.644 or KRS 311.970 to 311.976 <br>shall not be deemed to have violated KRS 216.302. Effective: July 15, 1994 <br>History: Created 1994 Ky. Acts ch. 269, sec. 3, effective July 15, 1994.
