216.320 Notification of secretary -- Effect of notification. Upon the completion of all procedures necessary for the creation of a taxing district as <br>provided in KRS 65.182, the fiscal court shall notify the secretary and the secretary shall <br>establish the district within the medical service area in which that county is located, and <br>shall certify his act to the county judge/executive and county clerk of each county, which <br>is a part of the district, the state local finance officer and to the Secretary of State. The <br>district shall then be a taxing district within the meaning of Section 157 of the Kentucky <br>Constitution for the carrying out of the purposes for which the district was created, and <br>for executing the powers with which it is vested. The county submitting the resolution to <br>the secretary shall be a participating county in the district. The remaining counties in the <br>medical service area may become participating counties upon compliance with the <br>requirements prescribed in KRS 216.317.
