79-2112. Elementarylearning center; elementary learning center executive director; qualifications; assistantsand employees.(1) Elementary learning centersshall serve as visionary resource centers for enhancing the academic successof elementary students, particularly those students who face challenges inthe educational environment due to factors such as poverty, limited Englishskills, and mobility. Each learning community coordinating council shall providefor a system of elementary learning centers to be administered by an elementarylearning center executive director.(2) The elementary learning center executive director shallbe appointed by the learning community coordinating council. The executivedirector shall be a person well equipped to work with populations in povertyand to analyze effective methods for assisting and encouraging such populationsto access the programs offered by elementary learning centers. Theelementary learning center executive director shall receive such salary asis set by the learning community coordinating council.(3) The elementary learning center executive director mayselect, appoint, and compensate as he or she sees fit, within the amount providedby the learning community coordinating council, such noncertificated assistantsand noncertificated employees as he or she deems necessary to discharge theresponsibilities under sections 79-2112 to 79-2114. Such assistants and employeesshall be subject to the control and supervision of the elementary learningcenter executive director.
