§ 106‑549.18. Inspection; stamping carcass.

For the purposes hereinbefore set forth the Commissioner shall cause tobe made by inspectors appointed for that purpose, as hereinafter provided, apost mortem examination and inspection of the carcasses and parts thereof ofall cattle, sheep, swine, goats, fallow deer, red deer, bison, horses, mules,and other equines, capable of use as human food, to be prepared at anyslaughtering, meat‑canning, salting, packing, rendering, or similarestablishment in this State in which such articles are prepared for intrastatecommerce; and the carcasses and parts thereof of all such animals found to benot adulterated shall be marked, stamped, tagged, or labeled, as"Inspected and Passed"; and said inspectors shall label, mark, stamp,or tag as "Inspected and Condemned," all carcasses and parts thereofof animals found to be adulterated; and all carcasses and parts thereof thusinspected and condemned shall be destroyed for food purposes by the saidestablishment in the presence of an inspector, and the Commissioner or hisauthorized representative may remove inspectors from any such establishmentwhich fails to so destroy any such condemned carcass or part thereof, and saidinspectors, after said first inspection shall, when they deem it necessary,reinspect said carcasses or parts thereof to determine whether since the firstinspection the same have become adulterated and if any carcass or any partthereof shall, upon examination and inspection subsequent to the first examinationand inspection, be found to be adulterated, it shall be destroyed for foodpurposes by the said establishment in the presence of an inspector, and theCommissioner or his authorized representative may remove inspectors from anyestablishment which fails to so destroy any such condemned carcass or partthereof.
