§ 116‑9.  Meetingsof Board of Governors.

The Board of Governors shall meet at stated times established by theBoard, but not less frequently than six times a year. The Board of Governorsshall also meet with the State Board of Education and the State Board ofCommunity Colleges at least once a year to discuss educational matters ofmutual interest and to recommend to the General Assembly such policies as areappropriate to encourage the improvement of public education at every level inthis State; these joint meetings shall be hosted by the three Boards accordingto the schedule set out in G.S. 115C‑11(b1). A quorum for the conduct ofbusiness shall consist of a majority of the members. (1971, c. 1244, s. 1; 1987 (Reg. Sess., 1988), c.1102, s. 3.)
