§ 143‑49.1. Purchases by volunteer nonprofit fire department and lifesaving and rescuesquad.

In consideration of public service, any volunteer nonprofit firedepartment, lifesaving and rescue squad in this State may purchase gas, oil,and tires for their official vehicles and any other materials and suppliesunder State contract through the Department of Administration, and may purchasesurplus property through the Department of Administration on the same basisapplicable to counties and municipalities.

The Department of Administration shall make its services available tothese organizations in the purchase of such supplies under the same laws, rulesand regulations applicable to nonprofit organizations as provided in G.S. 143‑49.(1973, c. 442; 1991, c. 199.)
