§ 160A‑17. Continuing contracts.

A city is authorized to enter into continuing contracts, some portionor all of which are to be performed in ensuing fiscal years. Sufficient fundsshall be appropriated to meet any amount to be paid under the contract in thefiscal year in which it is made, and in each ensuing fiscal year, the councilshall appropriate sufficient funds to meet the amounts to be paid during thefiscal year under continuing contracts previously entered into.
