(a) Whenever theCommissioner considers it prudent, the Commissioner shall visit and examine orcause to be visited and examined by a competent person appointed by theCommissioner for that purpose any professional bail bondsman, surety bondsman,or runner subject to this Article. For this purpose the Commissioner or personmaking the examination shall have free access to all records of the licenseethat relate to the licensee's business and to the records kept by any of the licensee'sagents.
(b) The Commissionermay conduct examinations of surety bondsmen under G.S. 58‑2‑195 aswell as under subsection (a) of this section. (1975, c. 619, s. 1; 1991, c. 644, s. 21; 2001‑269,s. 2.8.)
