§ 7A‑63.  Assistantdistrict attorneys.

Each district attorney shall be entitled to the number of full‑timeassistant district attorneys set out in this Subchapter, to be appointed by thedistrict attorney, to serve at his pleasure. A vacancy in the office ofassistant district attorney shall be filled in the same manner as the initialappointment. An assistant district attorney shall take the same oath of officeas the district attorney, and shall perform such duties as may be assigned bythe district attorney. He shall devote his full time to the duties of hisoffice and shall not engage in the private practice of law during his term.
