11-1402. Operating agreement
A. The board of supervisors of a county with a population of more than one million
five hundred thousand persons according to the most recent United States decennial census
may enter into an operating agreement as provided by this chapter with a nonprofit
corporation for purposes of:
1. Acting as a provider of health care services for compensation.
2. To assume the responsibility for managing, maintaining and operating a community
health system, including health system assets that are transferred to the corporation
pursuant to a lease agreement.
B. The board of supervisors may enter into an operating agreement with only one
nonprofit corporation for operation in the sponsoring county at any time.
