11-1431. Purposes of the nonprofit
corporation


The board of supervisors may enter into an operating agreement only with a nonprofit
corporation with articles of incorporation or bylaws that provide that the primary
purposes of the corporation under this chapter are to:


1. Provide quality, cost-effective health care services for individuals, families
and communities residing, employed or located, as applicable, in the sponsoring county
and elsewhere.


2. Act as a provider of health care services for compensation.


3. Assume the responsibility for managing, maintaining and operating health system
assets that are transferred to the corporation pursuant to a lease agreement.


4. Provide health care to the public.


5. Promote public health.


6. Support and facilitate medical and public health research and clinical education
for health care professionals.
