15-782. Career and technical education and
vocational education
A. A school having satisfactory facilities and equipment and which is fit to
provide career and technical education and vocational education, such as agriculture,
business and office education, health occupations, home economics, industrial education,
marketing and distribution and public and personal services, shall, upon application made
by the governing board to the state board of education, be designated to maintain a
department consisting of such career and technical education and vocational education
programs and program improvement services for pupils in grades seven through twelve.
B. Instruction in the department shall be of a practical character.
C. The governing board shall employ trained instructors with qualifications fixed
by the state board of education, shall provide suitable classrooms and laboratory
facilities for such instruction according to rules established by the state board of
education and may provide a tract of land, together with buildings, machinery, tools,
equipment and appliances, suitable for field work in agriculture.
