23-677. Contempt by contumacy or refusal to
obey subpoena of commission

In case of contumacy or refusal of a person to obey a subpoena issued under this
chapter, any court of this state within the jurisdiction of which the inquiry is carried
on or within the jurisdiction of which the person guilty of contumacy or refusal to obey
is found, resides or transacts business, upon application by the commission or its duly
authorized representative, shall issue to such person an order requiring him to appear
before a commissioner, the commission or its duly authorized representative, and to
produce evidence if so ordered or give testimony touching upon the matter under
investigation or in question. Failure to obey such order of the court may be punished by
the court as a contempt thereof.
