25-413. Domestic relations education and
mediation fund; report


A. Each county treasurer shall establish a domestic relations education and
mediation fund consisting of monies received pursuant to section 12-284, subsection C.


B. The presiding judge of the superior court shall use fund monies to establish,
maintain and enhance programs designed to educate persons about impacts on children of
dissolution of marriage, legal separation and restructuring of families and programs for
mediation of visitation or custody disputes under this chapter or chapter 6 of this
title.


C. The county treasurer shall disburse monies from the fund only at the direction
of the presiding judge of the superior court.


D. On notice of the presiding judge, the county treasurer shall invest monies in
the fund and monies earned from investment shall be credited to the fund.


E. Monies that are expended from the fund shall be used to supplement, and not
supplant, any state or county appropriations that would otherwise be available for
programs described in subsection B of this section.


F. On or before August 10 of each year, the county treasurer shall submit a report
to the presiding judge that shows the amount of monies in the domestic relations
education and mediation fund.
