28-2235. Interstate commercial fleet
registration; trailers; fees


A. The application of each fleet registered pursuant to this article shall include
a total fee payment of at least four dollars fifty cents for each vehicle in the
fleet. The fee payment shall be submitted at the time and in the manner directed by the
director and is computed as follows:


1. Divide in-state miles by total fleet miles.


2. Determine the total amount necessary to register each vehicle in the fleet for
which registration is requested based on the applicable fees and taxes prescribed by
sections 28-2003, 28-5433, 28-5471 and 28-5801.


3. Multiply the sum obtained in paragraph 2 by the fraction obtained in paragraph
1.


B. In addition to all other fees, the applicant shall include a filing fee of seven
dollars fifty cents with each application or supplemental application for nine or fewer
vehicles, fifteen dollars for ten through twenty-four vehicles and twenty-two dollars
fifty cents for twenty-five or more vehicles.


C. The applicant for proportional registration of a fleet, the nonmotor vehicles of
which are operated in jurisdictions in addition to those in which the applicant's
proportionally registered motor vehicles are operated, may state the nonmotor vehicles
separately in the application and compute and pay the fees in accordance with the
separate statement. In this application the total miles are the total miles that the
nonmotor vehicles were towed by any of the applicant's motor vehicles on highways in all
jurisdictions during the preceding year.
