28-4077. Certificate of insurance


A. A person may give proof of financial responsibility by filing with the director
the written certificate of an insurance carrier duly authorized to do business in this
state certifying that there is in effect a motor vehicle liability policy for the benefit
of the person required to furnish proof of financial responsibility. The certificate
shall:


1. Be in a form and shall contain the information prescribed by the director.


2. Designate by explicit description or by appropriate reference all motor vehicles
covered by the certificate, unless the policy is issued to a person who is not the owner
of a motor vehicle.


B. A motor vehicle shall not be or shall not continue to be registered in the name
of a person required to file proof of financial responsibility unless the motor vehicle
is designated in the certificate.
