28-507. Transportation system database


A. In cooperation with local, regional and tribal agencies, the division shall
develop and maintain a geographically oriented database of the existing and planned
components of the statewide transportation system. The database shall be complete and
operational on or before June 30, 2004.


B. The database shall include information concerning all projects considered for
inclusion in the statewide transportation plan developed pursuant to section 28-506.


C. All cities, towns, counties and other transportation agencies that receive state
or federal transportation monies shall maintain standardized records of their long-range
transportation needs and shall report these needs to the division on or before September
1 of each year. As appropriate, local transportation planning agencies may rely on the
planning activities and reports of the department and regional planning agencies if these
activities and reports have been undertaken pursuant to requirements of this article.


D. In cooperation with local, regional and tribal agencies, the division shall
prepare for presentation to the board minimum standards or guidelines delineating the
standardized data and information that must be submitted pursuant to this section. The
minimum standards shall recognize the differences in local or regional circumstances.
