31-222. Research and evaluation
programs

A. The department shall establish programs of research, statistics and planning,
including the study of its own performance concerning the treatment of adult offenders.

B. The department may conduct and supervise research into the causes of detention
and treatment of crime and disseminate such information to the public and governmental or
private agencies.

C. The department may establish such joint research and information facilities of
governmental and private agencies as it shall determine.
