32-1672. Board of dispensing opticians;
members; qualifications; terms; removal; immunity


A. The state board of dispensing opticians is established consisting of seven
members appointed by the governor. Five members of the board shall be licensees in good
standing under this chapter. Two members of the board shall be public members.


B. Each member shall serve for a term of five years expiring on the first day in
January of the appropriate year. A member shall not serve for more than two complete
consecutive terms.


C. The board shall elect from among its membership a chairman and such other
officers as it deems necessary, who shall hold their offices at the pleasure of the
board.


D. Members of the board are eligible to receive compensation in the amount of fifty
dollars for each day of actual service in the business of the board.


E. The governor may remove a board member from office if the governor determines
that the member is guilty of malfeasance, misfeasance or dishonorable conduct.


F. The board, the secretary-treasurer of the board and permanent and temporary
board personnel are immune from civil liability for any act the board, its officers and
board personnel perform in good faith and in furtherance of this chapter.
