36-1692. Environmental exposure risk
assessment program; fees


A. The department shall establish an environmental exposure risk assessment
program. The program shall:


1. Analyze public health risks associated with environmental exposures.


2. Provide for an independent evaluation and assessment of different strategies to
reduce or prevent public health risks from environmental exposures.


3. Unless the director determines that the department does not have the capacity to
complete required program services in a timely manner, provide state agencies, political
subdivisions of this state and private entities and persons with information necessary to
address public health risks from environmental exposures. The department shall establish
a fee for providing environmental exposure risk assessments.


B. The department shall deposit all fees collected pursuant to this section in the
risk assessment fund established by section 36-1693.
