36-311. Appointment and removal of local
registrars and deputy local registrars


A. The state registrar shall appoint the county health officer of the county health
department as the local registrar for a registration district. If a county health
department does not have a county health officer, the state registrar shall appoint an
employee of the county health department as the local registrar for a registration
district.


B. With notice to the state registrar, the local registrar may appoint one or more
persons to serve as deputy local registrars with any of the duties vested in the local
registrar.


C. The state registrar may remove a local registrar or a deputy local registrar who
does not comply with this chapter or rules adopted pursuant to this chapter or for any
other reasonable cause.


D. After notice to the state registrar, the local registrar may remove a deputy
local registrar who does not comply with this chapter or rules adopted pursuant to this
chapter or for any other reasonable cause.


E. The state registrar may abolish the office of a local registrar if the
registration district for which the local registrar is appointed is combined with another
registration district.
