36-3406. Arizona state advisory council on the
seriously mentally ill; membership; compensation; duties


A. The Arizona state advisory council on the seriously mentally ill is established.


B. The advisory council shall consist of the deputy director and the following nine
members appointed by the governor:


1. One member representing an advocacy group for the seriously mentally ill.


2. One service provider.


3. One member representing a behavioral health contract agency in an urban area.


4. One member representing a behavioral health contract agency in a rural area.


5. One member of a county health department specializing in the delivery of
services to the seriously mentally ill.


6. One health care professional who works with the seriously mentally ill and who
is not associated with a contract agency providing services.


7. Three family members of persons who are seriously mentally ill.


C. The deputy director shall serve as chairman.


D. The advisory council shall meet at least every three months.


E. Members of the advisory council are not entitled to compensation but members
appointed are entitled to reimbursement of expenses pursuant to title 38, chapter 4,
article 2.


F. The division shall provide necessary staff services to the advisory council.


G. The advisory council shall advise the division on matters relating to the
seriously mentally ill.


H. Appointed members of the advisory council shall serve staggered three year
terms.
