36-571. Developmental disabilities fund;
disbursement; federal monies


A. The developmental disabilities fund is established consisting of appropriations
and other monies for use for developmental disabilities. The department shall receive and
disburse monies in the fund upon claims signed by the director or other person in the
department designated by the director. Salaries and expenses of the department shall be
paid from the fund.


B. The department shall maintain in separate accounts monies for the department or
a program, service or facility which are received by gift, grant, bequest or devise, and
such monies shall be disbursed for the purposes of and in conformity with the terms of
the grant, gift, bequest or devise. Any unexpended balance of such monies shall not
revert to the general fund at the end of the fiscal year.


C. Monies for developmental disabilities purposes received from the federal
government or an agency thereof shall be kept in a separate account in the developmental
disabilities fund. Any unexpended and unencumbered balance of federal funds remaining in
the developmental disabilities fund at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the
general fund.
