37-256. Application of provisions; east half of
dry bed of Colorado river


The provisions of this section and sections 37-257, 37-258 and 37-259 shall apply to
the following lands:


1. Lands owned by the state of Arizona which lands are located in the Palo Verde
irrigation district in Riverside county, California, within three miles, measured in a
true west direction, of any portion of the Colorado river between river points 13.00 and
13.19 as defined in the "interstate compact defining the boundary between the states of
Arizona and California," (Laws 1963, chapter 77) and which lands, in the opinion of the
state land commissioner, may have constituted the east half of a now dry bed of the
Colorado river.


2. Lands owned by the state of Arizona other than lands referred to in paragraph 1
of this section, which other lands are located within three miles, measured in a true
east or true west direction of any portion of the Colorado river as located in the
interstate compact defining the boundary between the states of Arizona and California
(Laws 1963, chapter 77) and which lands, in the opinion of the state land commissioner,
may have constituted the east half of a now dry bed of the Colorado river, at such time
that the attorney general of the state of Arizona is satisfied that an agency of the
state of California is empowered to convey title to any west half of a now dry bed of the
Colorado river which may be located within three miles measured in a true east direction
of any portion of the Colorado river as above located.
