41-1552. Definitions
In this article, unless the context otherwise requires:
1. "Commission" means the commerce and economic development commission.
2. "Office" means the office of small business innovative research in the
department.
3. "Program" means the small business enterprise and research program established
by this article.
4. "SBIR" means the small business innovation research program that is enacted
pursuant to the federal small business research and development enhancement act of 1992
and that provides monies to small business to conduct innovative research and development
with commercial application.
5. "Small business" means a corporation, partnership, limited liability company,
sole proprietorship or individual operating a business for profit with not more than one
hundred employees, including employees employed in any subsidiary or affiliated
corporation that otherwise meets the requirements of the SBIR or the STTR.
6. "STTR" means the small business technology transfer program that is enacted
pursuant to title II of the federal small business technology transfer act of 1992 and
that provides monies to small business to conduct cooperative research and development
with nonprofit or federally funded research institutions.
