41-1749. Communications section;
duties
A. The communications section may install and operate all means of communications,
including a police radio broadcasting system, which shall be best suited for the
dissemination of information with regard to the apprehension of violators of the law and
for the coordination of the activities and functions of the law enforcement agencies of
the state, counties, cities or towns. It shall cooperate with county and municipal
police authorities and with police radio stations in this state and in other states.
B. The communications section shall be responsible for the installation and
operation of all computers and data processing equipment, and the design and development
of all procedures and computer programs for information processing and
tele-communications, to serve all divisions of the department.
C. The communications section shall provide for the rapid exchange of information,
concerning the commission of crimes and the detection of violators of the law, between
the law enforcement agencies of this state, its counties and municipalities and other
states and the federal government.
