41-1902. Membership; terms; vacancies;
compensation


A. The commission is composed of five members, who shall be appointed from private
life, as follows:


1. Two by the governor, one of whom shall be designated as chairman by the
governor.


2. One by the president of the senate.


3. One by the speaker of the house of representatives.


4. One by the chief justice of the supreme court.


B. Beginning in 2002, members shall be appointed biennially and serve until they
have submitted the report made pursuant to section 41-1903.


C. Any vacancy in the membership shall be filled in the manner in which the
original appointment was made.


D. The members of the commission shall serve without compensation, but shall be
reimbursed for travel and subsistence expenses as provided by law for state
officers. The department of administration, personnel division shall provide the
commission with such staff as is necessary to perform its functions and shall provide
record-keeping facilities and other facilities as needed.
