46-132. Special services unit


A. There shall be a special services unit in the department of economic security.


B. The supervisor of the special services unit shall be qualified with appropriate
investigative or legal background. He shall be responsible to the director for the
following:


1. Performing such special investigating duties in any county in the state as may
be assigned.


2. Assist in preparing criminal charges involving fraud and theft against the
department.


3. Establish liaison with the various law enforcement agencies.


4. Other related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.


C. The supervisor of the special services unit of the department may employ
investigators who are peace officers to discharge the duties prescribed in this section.
