46-331. Arizona special supplemental food
program fund for women, infants and children; purpose;
reimbursement
A. A permanent Arizona special supplemental food program fund for women, infants
and children is established in the department of health services consisting of monies
appropriated from the state general fund.
B. Monies in the Arizona special supplemental food program fund shall be used to
meet the costs of supplying prescribed supplemental foods to individuals enrolled in the
Arizona special supplemental food program for women, infants and children when federal
monies for the program are temporarily unavailable to meet the contracted case load
during a federal fiscal year.
C. Monies in the fund shall be used for food costs only.
D. The department, subject to federal law, shall replenish the Arizona special
supplemental food program fund to its appropriated level upon receipt of any federal
monies for support of supplemental food programs for women, infants and children.
