48-1574. Duties of election officers; opening
and closing polls


A. One of the judges of the board of election for each division shall be chairman
of the election, and may:


1. Administer oaths required during the election.


2. Appoint judges and clerks if during the election a judge or clerk ceases to act.


B. Any member of the board of election or clerk thereof may administer and certify
the oath required to be administered during the progress of an election. Before opening
the polls each member of the board shall take and subscribe to an oath to faithfully
perform the duties imposed upon him by law. An elector of the division may administer
and certify the oath.


C. The polls shall be opened at eight o'clock a.m. and remain open until six
o'clock p.m. of the same day.


D. The clerk of the board of election shall forthwith deliver the returns duly
certified to the board of directors of the district.
