48-2918. Ballots; manner of voting


A. The ballots at an election for the formation of an irrigation district shall be
supplied by the board of supervisors and shall contain the words, "irrigation district,
yes" and "irrigation district, no." If the board of supervisors has submitted the
question of vesting the proposed district with the power of drainage the words "drainage
power, yes" and "drainage power, no" shall be added. The ballots shall contain the names
of the qualified electors to be voted for as directors from each division of the proposed
district and as directors at large, if any, with one blank space where the elector may
write the name of any other qualified elector of the division for whom he desires to cast
a vote as a director and, if necessary, two blank spaces where the elector may write the
names of other qualified electors of the district for whom he desires to vote as
directors at large.


B. One director shall be elected from each division of the proposed district and,
if provided by the petition, two directors shall be elected at large, unless otherwise
provided by law. The elector shall vote for one person only as division director and, if
provided by the petition, for not more than two persons as at large directors and shall
indicate his choice by placing the mark X opposite the name, question or proposal for
which or against which he desires to vote.
