§ 11-801. Weekend inmates.
 

(a)  "Weekend inmate" defined.- In this section, "weekend inmate" means an inmate sentenced to a local correctional facility for nonconsecutive periods of 48 hours or less per week. 

(b)  Authority of county to impose fee.- The governing body of a county may impose on and collect from a weekend inmate a reasonable fee in an amount not to exceed the average cost of providing food, lodging, and clothing for an inmate for the time the inmate is confined in the local correctional facility. 

(c)  Procedures.- If the governing body of a county imposes a fee under this section, the governing body shall adopt standard procedures to implement this section, including a procedure for the waiver of a part or all of the fee based on the ability of an inmate to pay the fee.
