(a) Referral process.- On or before July 1, 2010, the Department, in collaboration with the Department of Human Resources and the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, shall develop a process to refer an inmate who has been diagnosed with hepatitis C to the Department of Human Resources or the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene for enrollment in the Maryland Medical Assistance Program or the Primary Adult Care Program on release of the inmate.
(b) Counseling.- The Department shall provide counseling to inmates with hepatitis C on the management of hepatitis C and methods to reduce the transmission of hepatitis C.
(c) Regulations.- The Department, in collaboration with the Department of Human Resources and the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, shall develop regulations to implement subsection (a) of this section.
