§ 13-1004. Authority established.
 

(a)  In general.- There is a body corporate and politic known as the Canal Place Preservation and Development Authority. 

(b)  Instrumentality of State; public corporation.- The Authority is an instrumentality of the State and a public corporation by that name, style, and title. 

(c)  Independent unit.- The Authority is an independent unit in the Executive Branch of the State government. 

(d)  Essential public function.- The exercise by the Authority of the powers conferred by this subtitle is the performance of an essential public function.
