§ 7-301. Guidelines; duration of emergency appointments.
 

(a)  Guidelines - In general.- In accordance with guidelines issued by the Secretary, an appointing authority shall appoint individuals to the executive service, the management service, as special appointments, or as emergency appointments. 

(b)  Guidelines - Qualifications.- These guidelines shall require that the individual appointed shall be qualified to perform the work described in the position description required by § 7-102 of this title. 

(c)  Duration of emergency appointments.- An emergency appointment under this section may not exceed 6 months and may not be renewed.
